BlindBuy ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights.
Account information. If you create an account, we collect your email address and password (stored securely via Supabase authentication).
Scent preferences. When you complete the fragrance assessment, we store your answers (favourite scents, dislikes, occasions, seasons, style preferences, experience level) to pre-fill future assessments and improve your experience.
Score history. If you are signed in, we save the results of your fragrance assessments (fragrance name, score, verdict, pros and cons) to your account.
Collection. Fragrances you add to your personal collection are stored and associated with your account.
Usage data. We use Vercel Analytics to collect anonymous usage data (page views, general location, device type). This data is aggregated and cannot be used to identify you personally.
We use the information we collect to:
— Provide and improve the BlindBuy service
— Pre-fill your preferences so you don't have to re-enter them
— Save your score history and collection across sessions
— Generate your public collection page (if you choose to share it)
— Understand how the app is being used through anonymous analytics
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.
We use the following third-party services to operate BlindBuy:
— Supabase — database and authentication (supabase.com)
— Anthropic — AI scoring via the Claude API (anthropic.com)
— Vercel — hosting and analytics (vercel.com)
Each of these services has their own privacy policy governing how they handle data.
If you share your collection, your username and fragrance list will be publicly visible at blindbuy.app/collection/[username]. You can remove fragrances from your collection at any time.
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. You can request deletion of your account and all associated data by emailing us at the address below.
If you use BlindBuy without creating an account, we do not store any personal information. Rate limiting for guest users is based on anonymised IP addresses and is not linked to any personal identity.
You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data at any time. To exercise these rights, contact us at privacy@blindbuy.app.
BlindBuy is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify users of significant changes by updating the date at the top of this page.
